Sales manager

Position Summary

 

Reporting to the Regional Director of Europe, the Middle East, Africa and India, the successful Sales Manager will drive and manage the overall regional sales in India region.

 

 

Major (region wide) responsibilities

 

·        Articulating and implementing the annual business plan, marketing/product strategy, and key account development plan.

 

·        Achieving top line sales, profitability and market growth targets.

 

·        Effectively managing customer relationships particularly at executive level but also, where necessary, at working levels.

 

·        Identifying business opportunities, developing new customers, and expanding existing accounts – region-wide.

 

l          Undertaking all other activities to ensure development of the business.

 

 

Ideal Candidate Specifications

Selection Criteria Key

 

·        Excellent interpersonal skills.

·        University degree, preferably in computer sciences or electrical engineering, or another applicable science.

 

·        An aggressive, experienced telecommunications (or appropriate SW technology) sales professional with at least 7 to 10 years of progressive sales management experience, ideally with extensive exposure (at executive level) in the telecommunications equipment manufacturing and network operators market (experience in sales of real time embedded software would be advantageous).

 

·        Must have strong key account management experience and extensive established relationships within the industry at decision- making level.

 

·        Candidates will need to be able to travel both domestically and internationally, sometimes at short notice if the situation demands it.

 

·        Remote office working experience is highly desirable.

 




 

Ideal Experience

 

·               Industry Background:           Telecoms equipment and/or software manufacturer.

 

·               Current Company:                A sales subsidiary or distributor of a multinational electronic component manufacturing and or software company, or similarly       westernized indigenous organizations.

·               Current Position:                   Depending on the organization, could be a, Division Manager, Commercial Director, Regional Sales Manager, Head of Sales & Marketing, Sales Manager, Senior Sales Executive etc.,

·        Strives to achieve business objectives by setting clear criteria and parameters to drive the business forward.

 

·        Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams spread across geographies – Finance, Engineering, Customer Support, Product Management, Operations, Sales

 

·        Is able to influence the decisions and views of others through persuasion, experience and prestige.

 

·        The ability to establish effective internal and external relationships gaining others’ trust and confidence.

 

·        Understands the market by matching and maximising business opportunities with Company strategy.            

·        Able and willing to travel extensively throughout the Region and globally when required.

 

·        Accountable and well organized in implementing and delivering on key customer account plans

 

 

Qualifications University degree, preferably in computer sciences or electrical engineering, or another applicable science + MBA from reputed B-School
